The bridge is pretty awesome, but I was honestly expecting it to be even more over the top after seeing the rest of the ship.

Do you know the name of the yacht or the designer of it? My company recently acquired a yacht designer so I’m starting to learn a bit more about that world and it’s fascinating.

Yeah, it's a Wally 118 and it has a combination diesel and gas turbine that enables it to reach a max top speed of 60 knots/70 mph. And the pictures don't really do it justice, as its 120 feet long. Boats are some of the coolest things. It's fascinating.

I work for a naval architecture and marine engineering firm that specializes in designing “medium” size surface combatants. Some of our designs include the FFG-7 class frigates, DDG-51 class destroyers, and LCS-1 Freedom class littoral combat ships.
We wanted to expand our scope of business to smaller craft, and we found a yacht designer who wanted to get in on the military market, so we ended up acquiring them. If you’re super interested in yachts, you may have heard of the Destriero. That was one of their designs.

She’s not pretty, but she’s fast. Still holds the trans-atlantic speed record.
